The southwesternmost weather station in Germany is located here on the Feldberg. It has existed since 1914 and has been measuring meteorological data since 1915. The weather warden and his family lived in this building until 2014, which has been operated automatically ever since.
The station on the Feldberg is a successor to a station in the Vosges, which at that time belonged to Germany.
The Black Forest Association offers meteorological tours on the Feldberg, where you can learn more about the weather on the Feldberg and also the history of the meteorological station.
