You reach the viewpoint on the horn via a narrow ridge. The 522 meter high mountain is a foothill of the Hohestein, with 569 meters the highest mountain of the Muschelkalk mountain range Gobert. From the Horn you can enjoy a wonderful view over the forested hills of Hessian Switzerland.

Coming from Bad Sooden (X5H), a steep path leads below the Hörne up to it. The path is not marked, but can be seen on the Komoot map. Although you shorten the X5H, the climb is definitely worth it. In the upper part with rope insurance. However, you should have good fitness and sure-footedness as it is very steep.

The Hohestein and Hörne mountains form the northern end of the Eschwege Basin. Their bright limestone cliffs, steep cliffs of shell limestone that rise from the forest far into the landscape, are a striking sight in the central Werra Valley. On the Hörnespitze, the western summit of the Hörne, there is a lookout point with a shelter for hikers, the Hörne Hut. From there, you have an excellent view over the central Werra Valley and the wooded hills of Hessian Switzerland.
