                    The stage starts at the Hermannsdenkmal near Detmold. The highlight of this stage is the sublime Externsteine, the most important natural and cultural monument in the Teutoburg Forest. Around the five towering stones are myths and legends. At the Externsteine ​​the Eggeweg begins, which until the end of the stage runs predominantly parallel with the Hermannsweg. Before the ascent to the Lippischen Velmerstot you pass the romantic Silberbachtal, at the beginning of which Gasthof Silbermühle lies. As a high and high point, you finally reach the barren Lippisches Velmerstot (441 m above sea level) with its rugged rocky landscape. Here ends the Hermannsweg.
