Bremen looks back on 1,200 years of history and tradition. The market square, with its historic buildings and the House of the Citizens, forms the heart of the Hanseatic city. On the west side, from left to right, stand the savings bank with its 1755 facade, next to it the town hall pharmacy and the excise office from 1595 (replaced by a new building in 1830), as well as the more recent "German House."
