With the RennsteigShuttle, you can travel from Ilmenau to Rennsteig train station on weekends and public holidays. From here you can make great bike rides. For example, it is only a stone's throw to Ilmquelle. Incidentally, there are always events at the station and there is a restaurant.

A lovely starting point for hikes and a rustic resting place to stop for a break. On weekends and public holidays, the station is not only a museum, but also the end point for train journeys to the Thuringian Forest from Erfurt via Arnstadt and Ilmenau.
