Deep inside Stevns Klint are not only stories about life and death of primeval animals and plants, but also stories about life and death during the Cold War. By the year 2000, Stevnsfort was one of the most important defenses of Denmark and NATO. Today it is open to new experiences.
There are large radar systems and individual buildings over the earth, but otherwise there is not much that reveals the massive fortress beneath the surface. The Stevnsfortet Fortress comprises a total of 1.8 km of underground tunnels dug inside Stevns Klint.
