The oak is said to have been planted by Georg von Derfflingen around 1650. The trunk is hollow, badly damaged by fire, and bricked up. It stands on the border between Gusow and Werbig

The oak was named after the most famous Gusow Georg Freiherr von Derfflinger. He owned the estate Gusow and he had the oak planted to mark the border after Werbig. The oak was planted about 350 years ago and probably has a trunk circumference of 7,90m. Everything can be read at monumentale-eichen.de/brandenburg/gusow
