Since 1807, Riddarholmskirche has only served as a burial and memorial church, almost all the burial sites of the Swedish monarchs are located here. The imposing sarcophagus of Karl XIV Johan is particularly impressive.

Riddarholmskyrkan is a beautiful old church dating back in the 13th century. The architectural details on the outside including some historical models alone were worth stopping by. After paying an entrance fee, one can find the burials sarcophagus of dozens of former swedish royals and tombs from many nobles who lived during the last 500 years including Magnas Ladalaus from the 13th century. It is also highly recommended to explore the small siderooms and take some time to admire the artworks and paintings at the ceiling.
