The Wendener Hütte is an old iron and hammer mill and a technical cultural monument. It was created in 1723 in pre-industrial times and existed until the time of industrialization. The blast furnace was shut down in 1866. The facility is located in the Sauerland community Wenden in the district Wendenerhütte and can be visited as a museum. It is one of the oldest blast furnace plants in Germany.

The Wendenerhütte is one of the oldest still excellently preserved charcoal and blast furnace systems in the German-speaking area.

Founded in 1728 by Johannes Ermert, it was continuously expanded and modernized for decades until it was closed in 1866. One of the things to see is the central building of the plant with blast furnace and casting hall, where iron ore was once smelted. The iron was further processed into shotgun barrels, transmitters, knives and springs, among other things. in the water-powered hammer mill.
