If what you want is to make a rural getaway, surround yourself with nature and enjoy an authentic thermal paradise, you only have to travel to Montanejos. They say that one of the best qualities of this municipality in the interior of Castellón is the health that it distributes since its waters have healing properties.

There is parking at the beginning of the highlighted segment for a small fee although it appears to be free on Bank Holidays as it was today. I wouldn't recommend going on a Bank Holiday however, it was extremely busy. Shade was at a premium - every tree had a family gathered underneath. This is a truly beautiful place but I'm sure much of this place's appeal is in it's tranquility which I'm told can be experienced on any week day throughout the year. At the end of the segment, the river widens into a stunning lagoon. I'll be back again on a more quiet day to experience this for myself.

A really dreamlike place that unfortunately resembles a crowded swimming pool in summer. The parking situation is also relatively modest (parking costs money and, like the entire street, is usually crowded). If you have the opportunity, you should rather visit this place outside the high season. You can also swim there between the gorge during the cooler seasons because the water is not that cold.
There is a small kiosk / bar on site (but not open all year round). There are changing rooms and toilets.
