"Moorblick" lookout point

The water surface referred to in rural parlance as "moor" is not a real raised bog in the true sense of the word as one finds in the high forest. Rather, it is a place from which the groundwater that flows underground from the slope of the Kümmerner mountain emerges and collects. In wet years and after heavy rainfall, it still fills with water. The water surface has been greatly decimated by partial filling. The moor has no above-ground drainage. Without this information board one would not have noticed it. The small group of trees would not have been assigned any meaning either. But you can see that this is a place where the groundwater from the slope of the Kümmerner Berg emerges and collects, in particularly rainy times this small depression fills with water.
