The Ruhrort harbor was founded in 1716 and expanded over the centuries. Today museum ships are moored here, but the port is still actively in operation as part of the largest inland port in the world: duisport.de/unternehmen/unsere-geschichte

The museum ship "Oscar Huber", built in 1922, is a unique cultural monument. Until the 1960s, the wheeled boat pulled up to seven non-powered barges with their cargo per trip. It represents a technology that was in use for more than 100 years.
