The Monument to the Romanian Soldier was created by the sculptors Izsák Márton and István Csorvassy from Târgu Mureș. It is dedicated to the memory of the sacrifices made by Romanian troops in Transylvania since the autumn of 1944. Standing on an eleven-meter-high pedestal, the five-meter-high bronze statue depicts a Romanian soldier in military uniform, holding a flag raised above his head in his right hand. The inscription on the front of the pedestal reads, in Romanian, "Eternal glory to the soldiers of the Romanian Army who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the homeland."
