The Greek Catholic Church of the Annunciation, built in the 2000s, was consecrated in 2011 by the Bishop of the Archdiocese of Blaj, Vasile Bizău. The Romanian Greek Catholic Church, united with Rome, is a Catholic church of the Byzantine Rite. The Romanian Church has played a significant role in the development of modern culture and education in the country. It is traditionally considered one of Romania's two national churches.
