Jonas and Konstancija Hrebnicki built a church in 1781. A parish was established. A parish school was mentioned in 1798. In 1828, the church burned down, and a temporary one was built.
Konstantinas Mostovskis built the current brick church in 1847–1848. Priest Juozapas Ambraziejus-Ambrozevičius, who was transferred to Naują Strūnaitis in 1893, began to use the Lithuanian language in the church. Priest Aleksandras Racevičius, who replaced him in 1895, preserved the order of his predecessor's services.
Priest Jurgis Glodenis, appointed in 1906, despised the Lithuanian language, preached sermons and held services in Polish every second Sunday. Pastor Juozapas Sadūnas (buried in the churchyard) taught religion in Lithuanian. In 1928–1930 The Lithuanian school of the "Rytas" society branch operated in 1911.
The church is classicist, rectangular in plan, without a dome. In the churchyard there is a two-story chapel of plastered masonry with a turret. The churchyard fence is made of stone masonry.
