After the new roof structure was built, new bells were cast for the concert church, the old bell was placed in front of the concert church in 2020.

Travel educates, definitely! We come from Karlsruhe and are in Neubrandenburg for the first time and stand here in front of this bell. And we realize that you first have to come to Neubrandenburg to find out that there is a bell foundry in Karlsruhe. In the meantime I've checked that the foundry is still there, but unfortunately no longer in Karlsruhe. If you're already here, I recommend going up the tower. Don't forget the earplugs !!! These are provided at the entrance and an announcement warns of the chime!

Now our path leads us to St. Mary's Church, but unfortunately it is closed.
Construction began in 1248, and its impressive size makes it one of the most important examples of North German Brick Gothic architecture.
Like the entire old town, it was severely damaged by fire just days before the end of the war in 1945.
The large St. Mary's bell stands before it, like a memorial.
The church is now used for concerts.
