The memorial stone above the entrance to the old part of the building shows the year 1887. The design in neo-Renaissance style is by architect Molenaar from The Hague. The letters SPQN stand for Senatus Populus Que Nordvicensis, translated: "The council and the people of Noordwijk". The town hall was greatly enlarged in 1987 with new construction on both sides of the building.
