The Museumshof Rahden was built here from 1962 to 1966 with the help of the Stadtsparkasse Rahden and the LWL. With the exception of the barn, his buildings all stood on different farmsteads in what is now the town of Rahden. They were removed there, restored and rebuilt here.

The visitor finds a fully furnished farmstead with its various trimmings as it looked in the 19th century. The entire interior consists of original pieces and comes from the old district of Rahden.

The Museumshof Rahden wants to build a bridge from the past to the living and working world of our farming ancestors. With the exception of the barn, his buildings all stood on different farmsteads in what is now the town of Rahden. Under the direction and advice of the State Office for Building Maintenance in Münster, they were removed by local craftsmen, restored and built into a farm between 1962 and 1966 - today's museum courtyard.
Around the main house, a two-poster house from 1689, there are a storehouse, a bakery, a barn, a sheepfold, a wagon shed, a bokem mill, a bleaching hut, an apiary, an earth cellar, a drying house and, a little further away, the Heuerlingshaus.
All buildings are furnished with old household items. You can see all the implements that belonged to the rural housework of churning, baking, processing flax as well as spinning and weaving. The old agricultural implements from harrows and plows to sickles and flails are still in their place.
Since 2012 it has also been possible to get married in the wedding room set up in the old barn.
