The current bell tower is now the fourth in Kleinendorf. By the mid-1960s, the third had slowly fallen into disrepair.
The current bell tower was planned by the local history association Kleinendorf under the direction of Werner Thielemann after many people in Kleinendorf had asked for it to be rebuilt. With a lot of personal contribution and a state subsidy of 17,500 DM, the construction could then take place.
The topping-out ceremony for the 11.50 meter high tower was celebrated in July 1990.
The ceremonial inauguration with the ringing of the old church bell from 1794 took place at the village festival on September 29, 1990.
The ringing dates are still noted by Wilhelm Hopmann in the ringing book that was presented to him 30 years ago at a ceremony when he was inaugurated.
Even today people like to meet in Kleinendorf for a chat at the seating area in the shade of the tower.
