Since the beginning of French royalty, Reims Cathedral has been the most important religious site in the whole kingdom. Reims being in a way the spiritual capital of France. It is here and nowhere else that kings were to be crowned, in order to be recognized as such. The cathedral of Reims, since Clovis who initiated the movement was a place of dubbing. The building is remarkable and is one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the country. One of the most iconic statues is that of the smiling angel which is at the level of the left porch as you enter. Have fun finding him, he will always send you his eternal and benevolent smile.
