During the GDR era, the Rangsdorfer See began to be baked out. The push units (square barges) were unloaded at the port and the sludge was temporarily stored in the field south of the forest. After a drying phase, the sludge was used as fertilizer.

The west side of the Rangsdorfer lake is not at all attractive in contrast to the east side, especially for hikers. There are also no direct lake access except at this 'harbor platform'.

This is a fascinating port facility for ships that actually cannot sail on the Krummen Lanke. From here you have a beautiful view of the Krumme Lanke and in the background of the Rangsdorfer See.
