The small village of Hřebeny (German: Hartenberg) is part of the municipality of Josefov. In 2011, it had a population of 79. Before the Second World War and the subsequent expulsion of the German population, this village, first documented in 1214, had a significantly larger population: In the 1921 census, there were 240 inhabitants, including four Czechoslovakians, 232 Germans, and four foreigners. At that time, 239 residents belonged to the Roman Catholic Church, and one was non-denominational.
