Huis Ophemert or Het Hoge Huis: House with layers of bacon, rebuilt in 1633 after the city fire that destroyed all the medieval houses in Bronkhorst that year. The building stands on 16th century foundations. It is the only building in Bronkhorst that has a somewhat urban feel with its Renaissance stepped gables and walled garden. This is where the steward lived, who managed the property and collected the rent on behalf of the Lords of Bronckhorst.
