The Taşhan, one of the symbols of the city, definitely deserves to be at the top of your list of sights to see. The Taşhan is also considered one of the largest city caravanserais in Anatolia. This impressive han, the construction of which began in 1626, also shows influences of typical Ottoman architecture.
The two-storey building has a rectangular plan. The Taşhan belongs to the caravanserais with an open courtyard and is located on Gaziosmanpaşa Boulevard. The construction was completed after six years. Today, this historical han has no less than 103 different rooms. The small shops here mainly focus on traditional crafts or various workshops. You will find the oldest coppersmiths, antique dealers and ceramicists in the city here.
