Sulu Sokak Caddesi, together with Halit Sokak one of the most touristic streets of Tokat, carries the historical identity of the city within itself. When you walk along this street, you will find yourself in the vicinity of especially the historical Tokat houses, shrines, a han (caravanserai), mosques and medreses. The Yağıbasan Medrese, the Latifoğlu House, the Atatürk House, the Mevlevihane of Tokat and the Sultan Bathhouse are all located directly on this street. The Tokat Clock Tower is also very close to Sulu Sokak Caddesi.
This authentic area, which forms the old city center, has managed to retain its character to this day. This long street with a historical origin of 900 years houses Tokat houses that are very similar to the houses in Safranbolu. There is public transportation to this popular area from almost every part of the city.
