According to the official city name, Lindau is not on Lake Constance, but in Lake Constance. Because Lindau's old town is located on an island and is connected to the mainland by two dams for railways and cars. However, most of today's urban area is on the mainland. The landmarks of the old town can be found at the harbor entrance. The lighthouse and the Bavarian lion are probably the best known on Lake Constance.
