The village pond on the village green is the heart of Klosterdorf. Since the 750th anniversary in 1997, the pond festival has been taking place at this pond, which attracts many visitors every year on the last weekend in August. When comparing with earlier pictures, the sinking water level in the Klosterdorfer Dorfteich is also obvious.

Klosterdorf was first mentioned in writing in 1241 as the property of the Zinna Monastery. It is a typical Kreuzanger village with very well-preserved field stone buildings. In 2019 it had 884 inhabitants.
