Oberderdingen (until 1964 and today still colloquially usually called only Derdingen) is a municipality in Kraichgau, in the northeast of the district of Karlsruhe. Oberderdingen is located on the border between Stromberg and Kraichgau, where a substantial part of the district belongs to the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park. The municipality extends between 154 and 337 meters above sea level. Bretten, Knittlingen and Eppingen are the nearest cities. The municipality is located about 35 km northeast of Karlsruhe and about 40 km west of Heilbronn.
