The Fichtelberg is the highest mountain in Saxony. At 1,214 meters, it is also one of the highest German low mountain ranges. There are all sorts of activities for you up here. After the strenuous ascent you can relax in the Fichtelberghaus. There was already a restaurant up here in 1888. A fire destroyed the original building. A new building was constructed in the 1960s and remodeled in 1999. From the 30 meter high tower you have a great view of the entire Ore Mountains.
