»The (Culture) Palace is “a gift from the Soviet nation to the Polish nation”. It was built in 1952–1955 to a design by Soviet architect Lev Rudnev, who was inspired by the Moscow skyscrapers (known outside Russia as the "Seven Sisters") and modeled on American Art Deco skyscrapers. Architecturally it is a mixture of socialist realism and historicism.
