A short walk on a gray New Year's Day – after welcoming the new year amidst the hustle and bustle at the Oberbaum Bridge. We'd been wanting to visit Loriot's grave for a long time; many rubber ducks paid their respects. And his humor is always good for a laugh.

The Arena Berlin is currently showing the "Polar Experience," an immersive show that vividly and informatively conveys knowledge about the polar regions (17 euros admission). We enjoyed beautiful light and cloud formations on the way there and back.

The operating room bunker, built in 1941 at the former Erwin Lieck Hospital (to provide a protected space for emergency operations), can be visited as part of a guided tour of the Berlin Underworlds. Extremely interesting and informative, highly recommended!!
