The only ferry across the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, which opened in 1900, connects the communities of Siebeneichen and Fitzen. The cable ferry is a tourist attraction and transports vehicles and groups of people. Individuals are still ferried across in rowing boats. The ferry has been operated as a joint project since 2017 by the Duchy of Lauenburg district + the Siebeneichen municipality + the Siebeneichen Ferry Association. The association organizes the ferry service, generally from April to October 3 of the year, only on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., partly by volunteer ferrymen. herzogtum-lauenburg.de/a-faehre-siebeneichen
