The abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés (in French, abbaye Saint-Germain-des-Prés) was a former Benedictine abbey in Paris, the most prestigious in the capital, located in the current 6th Arrondissement of Paris (in the district to which it gives its name, Saint-Germain-des-Prés), founded in the middle of the 6th century by the Merovingian king Childeberto I and the bishop of Paris, Saint Germán, under the invocation of Saint Vincent of Zaragoza and the Holy Cross.

This probably oldest church in Paris is something very special:
as a former monastery of which only the church remains, it breathes a spiritual tranquility that is unique in the big city. In addition, there are the wonderful concerts as a place of culture and for friends of architecture:
the wall painting, the vaulted ceiling and the column figures are uniquely beautiful, deep colors and impressive unity.
