North Pole Pass is a 12,200 pass on the Uinta Highline Trail. The eastern approach ascends through alpine meadows and patches of trees forests, passing Taylor Lake, a scenic fishing and camping spot before reaching the steady climb to a flat summit, which features a flat ¾-mile stretch before you hit it with false summits that make it feel much longer. The exposed terrain can make you vulnerable to afternoon thunderstorms and lightning, so early ascents are recommended. From the top, you get expansive views of the Uinta Mountains and, if traveling east to west, you then enter the High Uintas Wilderness.
