The Basilica of Saint Michel is part of the Way of St. James and is visible from almost anywhere in Bordeaux. Tourists are particularly drawn to the magnificent view of the old town from its freestanding bell tower.

The Basilica Saint-Michel (French Basilique St-Michel) is a Roman Catholic church in Bordeaux in southwestern France. It belongs to the Archdiocese of Bordeaux and is dedicated to the Archangel Michael. It is considered as the station of the Way of St. James Via Turonensis and thus belongs since 1998 to the UNESCO World Heritage.
