Schoenfeld Castle in the Saxon town of Schönfeld was first mentioned as a moated castle in the 13th century and further developed over the centuries. Until the early 15th century, the nobility lived here Schönfeld. The buildings date from the years 1560 to 1580. In 1882, the baron von Burgk acquired the Schönfelder Schloss and had it rebuilt until 1884. Today Schloss Schönfeld is one of the most important neo-renaissance castles in Saxony.
