The Paterzell airfield is located about 7 km northwest of Weilheim at the foot of the Hohen Peißenberg. Mainly glider pilots, but also small motor and ultralight aircraft, take off from the 500 meter long runway there.
The traditional aviation sport has been practiced in Paterzell since 1934.
