Albert Einstein had already received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. He and his wife practically lived in their summer house in Caputh from 1929 to 1932, except for the winter. Naturally, the scientist was already quite famous at that time.
This house is a very simple but spacious building with a huge terrace. Unfortunately, today, there's hardly any sign of a lake view. Since the interior is extremely modern and even quite sterile, you can probably skip the admission fee. Just walking around the outside is enough to absorb a little of the atmosphere of this place. And there's some notable history, as personalities such as Heinrich Mann, Käthe Kollwitz, and the Indian Rabindranath Tagore (Nobel Prize for Literature!) visited Einstein here in Caputh.
Ultimately, it's about remembering the genius, a fitting tribute to his extraordinary scientific achievements and, moreover, his political commitment, and by no means just about mundane facts or even high-sounding physical expertise!
The location in the upper part of Caputh, the sloping property, and the exceptionally quiet neighborhood undoubtedly suited the great thinker very well.
