Nice, typically Franconian town on the north shore of the Altmühlsee. In the city you will find some well-maintained, old buildings - including the Fachwerktorhaus, the churches of St. John's Church and St. James. You will also find several restaurants and inns here. Thanks to numerous holiday apartments and guesthouses, Muhr is also the perfect starting point for cycling tours and hikes in the Franconian Lake District.

The merged from three parts community Muhr am See belongs to the administrative district Mittelfranken and the district of Weissenburg Gunzenhausen. It is located about 50Km south of Nuremberg on Altmühlsee. To the south lies the nature reserve Vogelfreistätte in Altmühlsee.
