The Ferdinand spring is the oldest documented mineral spring in the area of Mariánské Lázně. It is not just one, but several springs that have a typically salty taste, due to the laxative Glauber's salt, which King Ferdinand I was also interested in as early as 1528.

The source is characterized by a strong salty taste, which has the same composition as the cross-source, but even more mineralized. According to ancient oldest written documents, it is the already mentioned in the 16th century Auschowitz source, which was later called Ferdinandquelle. From the 16th century, the spring was used several times to make salt - but with a negative result. The spring is used for drinking cures and carbonic baths.
