The memorial house-museum of N. E. Zhukovsky was founded by Vera Aleksandrovna Zhukovskaya (1893-1955) on March 27, 1937 and opened on October 1, 1938 in the same house where the creator of aerodynamics was born on January 5 (17), 1847, into an engineer's family. The museum was founded on Zhukovsky's 90th anniversary. Nikolai Yegorovich spent his childhood in this house; he often returned to his native village, already being a world-famous scientist.
Nikolai Zhukovsky's native estate has a history of almost four centuries.
3 kilometers from Orekhovo, near the Church of Elijah the Prophet of the former churchyard of Sannitsa, on the Vorsha (Glukhovo village), is the necropolis of the noble families of Vsevolozhsky and Zhukovsky.
