The Bergedorf Bismarck monument was inaugurated in 1906, and the design for the monumental memorial was provided by Karl Garbers. The Bismark Monument was inaugurated in 1906 - later it was moved to the Bergedorf Castle Park. Colorful flowers bloom in the foreground - park visitors sit under a parasol in a café next to the granite monument on the front side of which the copper plaque with Bismarck's head.

The Platz am Bismarckdenkmal in the Schlosspark, near the Chrysanderstrasse, is a popular meeting place for the Bergedorfers. Either to the coffee in the Café Chrysander or to the Boule game (Pétanque). Or you sit on the benches, relax and watch the goings on.
