In Denmark, too, various bunkers were positioned near the coast during World War II as part of the 'Atlantic Wall' to monitor events at sea. Unlike, for example, in Hirtshals (Bunker Museum) and Løkken, the number of bunkers in Lønstrup was comparatively small. The few structures here could be built in exposed locations due to the steep coastline.

Erosion means that the bunkers, which were mostly underground, are now often visible even deeper in the sea.

The bunker next to the harbor pier served as a berth, shade provider, or towel rack before the turn of the millennium and until a few years ago. The switch from truck transport (komoot.com/de-de/highlight/6597290?ref=whd) to a suction vessel for filling the beaches of Lønstrup with sand has made significantly larger quantities available, so that the beach next to the pier can be filled up to the groynes.
As a result, this bunker is only visible after extreme weather conditions with corresponding sand erosion. The satellite images are still old enough to show the bunker… 😉
