The Vechtesee is actually beautiful from all sides. It can be avoided quite easily. With the gastronomy there you have a good opportunity for a coffee or other refreshment. Boat rental is also nearby. With a boat tour you can see the water town from a different perspective.

The 16 hectare Vechtesee was completed in 1974. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the city center of Nordhorn. It is intended to act as a buffer zone to protect it in the event of flooding.
The Vechtesee also serves as a local recreation area with excellent restaurants and a boat rental service. From the Vechtesee you can, for example, get to know the "water town of Nordhorn" in a special way by rowing or pedal boats on the branching Vechte. You can also do water sports on the lake such as windsurfing and sailing. There are several benches set up on the approximately two-kilometer-long path around the beautiful Vechtesee. Here you can take a break every now and then as you walk or cycle around the lake and enjoy the view of the lake.

Very beautiful lake! There is a lot to see while cycling around, such as the Triangular Pavilion by a US artist. This is located on the lake and can be reached via a footbridge. You can also rent pedal boats nearby and explore the city via the small foothills of Lake Vechte.
