It protrudes from the treetops and can be seen even from miles away, the Oberpfalzturm. It stands at the highest elevation in the Steinwald, the plateau at 946 m - the third highest in the entire Fichtelgebirge after Schneeberg and Ochsenkopf, followed by the Kösseine. 150 steps must conquer hikers before the picturesque view into the distance is possible. From the top you have a view of the largest contiguous forest area in Central Europe, as far as the Czech Republic in the Bohemian Forest.
The 33 m high wooden tower is already the second of its kind on the slab. The first Oberpfalzturm stood from 1972 to 1998. The successor was officially inaugurated in September 2000.

The plate is 946 m above sea level. NN the highest mountain in the Steinwald (southern Fichtelgebirge). The Platte is a popular hiking destination, not least because of the Oberpfalz tower, which is located on the summit. It is mountable and offers wide views of the surrounding area. The first Oberpfalzturm stood from 1972 to 1998. The second Oberpfalz tower was officially inaugurated on 10 September 2000. It is a wood-steel construction and was designed by Ferdinand Lehner.
It reaches a total height of 35 meters, the viewing platform is 30 meters high. To climb it, 150 steps must be conquered.Super view over the stone forest.
