Beautiful source on the northeastern slope of the Ochsenkopf near Bischofsgrün. Good accessibility, as well as opportunities to relax (benches, etc.). The White Main unites west of Kulmbach with the Red Main and flows at Mainz in the Rhine.

The red Main is the water poorer river, but longer. Red Main about 72km, white Main about 52km.
