The bear fountain is intended to remind of the former inn and first Oberursel cinema "Zum Bären", which stood on the corner of Oberhöchstadter Strasse and Vorstadt until 1991. The fountain designed by the Oberursel artist Georg Hieronymi shows two playing bronze bears on a natural stone. The fountain itself was inaugurated in 1986, and the two bear figures were added in 1987.

Although it is very loud here because of the through traffic, the benches by the fountain are still in good use. A bakery also offers seating.
