There is a short and a long path in the moor, both of which lead to the observation tower. Many information boards provide information on the flora and fauna of the moorland (there is usually one sign for the adults and one for the children). A visit to this great moor is definitely worth it!

At 66.4 hectares, it is the largest moorland in the Rhön region and is well accessible to visitors thanks to a boardwalk and a viewing tower. The nature trail provides a lot of interesting information about the geographical features, the flora and fauna, the history of its creation and previous uses.

Large parts of the 66.4 hectare protected area are mostly wooded. But here on the lake areas, the moorland character becomes really clear.

The Black Moor is one of the two Rhön high moors - the other is the Red Moor near Obernhausen and the Wasserkuppe!
Both are worth a visit!
