The trail becomes rockier, with increasing elevation gain and more exposed landscapes. This 2-3 km stretch climbs approximately 300 meters, taking you through sparse vegetation, with large boulders and rocky surfaces dominating the path.

As you move away from the wooded areas around Melandstjønn, the terrain becomes more alpine, with expansive views of the surrounding valleys. The lake Aslakstaulvatn provides a scenic resting point amidst the rugged landscape. The trail is moderately difficult here, requiring careful footing over rocks and light scrambling at times. Weather conditions can make the path slippery, especially after rain.
