The brewery right has existed since 1803. Since there was no successor in 1989, the brewery was sold to the Trunk family, who renovated it from the ground up and built the Bräustüberl, the hall and a beer garden.
Not only the dark Nothelfer beer is a hit, but also the organic white beer that has been available for a number of years is my personal favorite, especially in the summer months. There is also a beer and a lager. From Ash Wednesday to Easter, a Lastenbock and from Easter to September the Scheffeltrunk Kellerbier. There is also a harvest beer from September to October and a festival beer and a Silberbock during the Christmas season. However, it is difficult to get a seat in the beer garden, especially during the summer.

As early as the middle of the 15th century, there had been a pub serving beer at the Vierzehnheiligen pilgrimage site. It initially got its beer from the Langheim monastery brewery, and from the 18th century also from the monastery courtyard in Trieb.[2] Since 1803, there has been evidence of an "old" Vierzehnheiligen monastery brewery,[3][4] which operated next to the Vierzehnheiligen basilica. In the meantime, three breweries existed side by side in Vierzehnheiligen. In addition to the Gastwirt zum Hirschen in the old pilgrimage pub, the Franziskaner-Convent-Bierbrauerei existed in the middle of the 19th century. The current brewery goes back to the Gasthof Goldener Stern, which was run by the Martin family and built its own brewery in 1882. It was initially called Sternbräu Vierzehnheiligen and after 1950 was renamed Brauerei Martin. In 1989, the brewery was taken over by the Trunk family and continued as Brauerei Trunk. From 1933 onwards there was a malthouse, which was however closed down before the Trunk family took over. Today the Bräustüberl is located in the former malthouse.
